Anrok Review 2026
What the per-market Starter plan covers, when the Custom plan takes over, and what the same footprint costs on Avalara, Numeral, Stripe Tax and Sphere.
Anrok is worth it in 2026 for a SaaS company that sells into a handful of US states and a few countries and wants registration, calculation, filing and remittance in one fee. Starter costs $100 per market a month, where each registered US state, the EU One Stop Shop or a country counts as one market, verified on Anrok's pricing page on October 17, 2026.
Five markets cost $6,000 a year, with no per-filing charge. Avalara covers the same five US states for $3,995 a year on Core Compliance, and Numeral for $2,250 in year one, so Anrok is not the cheapest option for a US-only footprint.
The case for Anrok is the global side and the billing integrations: VAT and GST in 150+ countries, 40+ native connectors including Stripe, Chargebee, NetSuite and Salesforce, and physical nexus from remote employees through HRIS data.
At 10 markets Starter lists at $12,000 a year and Anrok points teams to the quoted Custom plan, so a scaling company should treat the per-market rate as a starting point rather than a budget.
Key factsBest for: SaaS companies in fewer than 10 markets that sell…
- Per-market sales tax and VAT platform with filing, remittance and reconciliation included on the entry plan.
- Billing unit: One flat fee per market a month
- Custom plan: Quoted, for 10+ markets
- Coverage: 11,000+ US jurisdictions, 150+ countries
- Free trial: None; pre-sale sandbox on Custom
Pros
- One flat fee per market with no per-filing or per-registration charge, so the bill moves only when a new jurisdiction is activated.
- US sales tax and VAT or GST in 150+ countries on the same plan, with currency-ready returns.
- 40+ native integrations, HRIS-based physical nexus tracking and a reconciliation tool that ties returns to the billing system.
Cons
- Five US states cost $6,000 a year, more than Avalara's $3,995 or Numeral's $2,250 for the same states.
- Anrok's own page sends teams at 10+ markets to a quoted Custom plan, so the published rate stops at $12,000 a year.
- No free trial, and Starter sellers with high transaction volumes may owe extra third-party fees set out in the contract.
Buy Starter when the company is registered in fewer than 10 markets, bills through Stripe, Chargebee or a similar platform, and wants one vendor for US sales tax and VAT. Ask for a Custom quote the moment the tenth market is in sight, because that is where Anrok's own page sends you.
Do not buy Anrok for a US-only seller with no international plans and a simple product catalog, because Avalara and Numeral publish lower prices for that footprint.

What is Anrok?
Anrok is a sales tax and VAT compliance platform built for SaaS and digital companies. It runs the whole chain on one record: exposure monitoring, registration, real-time calculation at checkout, filing, remittance and reconciliation against the billing system, for 11,000+ US jurisdictions including home-rule cities and 150+ countries.
It is not a ledger and not a billing system. Anrok sits between the billing platform and the tax authorities, which is why the integration list matters more than the feature list.
The best billing software ranking covers the systems it plugs into, and the Chargebee alternatives page covers the subscription layer.
The plan ladder has three rungs. Starter is the self-serve per-market plan for founders and early teams. Custom is for teams scaling from 10+ markets or at enterprise scale, with e-invoicing, multi-entity management, audit-ready reporting, an advanced data API and single sign-on.
A third plan for ecommerce brands is also quoted on markets and volume, and on Shopify the calculation runs through Shopify Tax with Anrok verifying it.
How Anrok works
Setup starts with the billing connection. Anrok has 40+ native integrations across billing, ERP, ecommerce and HRIS tools, including Stripe, NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora, Chargebee, QuickBooks, Workday, WooCommerce and Shopify, and the HRIS link is what lets it track physical nexus created by remote employees.
Anrok says most companies are live in one to four weeks, with simple stacks at the short end and multi-billing or ERP setups at the long end.
Once connected, the platform maps exposure worldwide and alerts the team as a threshold approaches. Crossing one triggers registration with the authority, calculation at checkout, scheduled filing and remittance, with no state portals or filing calendars to maintain.
Each activated market adds one per-market fee and nothing else, because Starter carries no per-filing charge.
The reconciliation tool is the feature Anrok leads with against Avalara: it matches filed returns to the billing system on the same record, which is the work a controller otherwise does in a spreadsheet before every filing.
Anrok says about 40% of its mid-market customers switched from Avalara, citing reconciliation mismatches, rotating support contacts and manual true-ups. Treat that as the vendor's claim, not an audited figure.
Anrok key features
Anrok pricing
The price on Anrok's pricing page, read October 17, 2026, is $100 per market a month on Starter, the same rate for every company, with calculations, filings and core features included. Custom and the ecommerce plan are quoted on markets and transaction volume.
Anrok lists no free trial, and the pre-sale sandbox is offered to companies evaluating Custom. Starter sellers with high transaction volumes may owe additional fees to cover third-party costs, which the account representative is meant to state before signing.
A SaaS company registered in 4 US states and the UK is in 5 markets and pays $6,000 a year on Starter. A company in 10 markets lists at $12,000 a year, and Anrok's page points teams scaling from 10+ markets to the Custom plan.
The alternatives, all read the same day, price the US part of those footprints differently. Avalara Core Compliance is $799 per state a year with a three-state minimum, so 5 states cost $3,995 and 10 states $7,990, with international products priced separately.
Numeral Professional charges $150 per registration and $75 per filing with free nexus monitoring, so 5 states filing quarterly cost $2,250 in year one and $1,500 a year after.
Stripe Tax Complete runs from $90 a month on a one-year contract at 2 registrations and 4 filings a year to $1,500 a month at 10 registrations and 32 filings, and Tax Basic is 0.5% per transaction for calculation only.
Sphere Starter matches Anrok's per-market rate, charged per region below 10 regions, with calculation up to 50,000 transactions, and moves to a custom Growth plan at 10 regions.
Our Avalara pricing page runs the per-state totals in more detail, and TaxJar vs Avalara covers the ecommerce end of the market.

Anrok pros and cons
What we like
- One flat fee per market with no per-filing or per-registration charge, so the bill moves only when a new jurisdiction is activated.
- US sales tax and VAT or GST in 150+ countries on the same plan, with currency-ready returns.
- 40+ native integrations, HRIS-based physical nexus tracking and a reconciliation tool that ties returns to the billing system.
What could be better
- Five US states cost $6,000 a year, more than Avalara's $3,995 or Numeral's $2,250 for the same states.
- Anrok's own page sends teams at 10+ markets to a quoted Custom plan, so the published rate stops at $12,000 a year.
- No free trial, and Starter sellers with high transaction volumes may owe extra third-party fees set out in the contract.
Who Anrok is for
Anrok fits a SaaS or digital company that bills through a modern platform, is registered in fewer than 10 markets today, and sells or will sell outside the US. The per-market fee is predictable, the filing is included, and the VAT side needs no second vendor.
Starter is the honest default for a seed or Series A company with a Stripe or Chargebee stack, and the finance stack for Series A guide places it next to the ledger and billing tools that same company buys.
Custom is the honest default for a multi-entity group, a company with e-invoicing mandates in Europe, or anyone crossing the tenth market.
Skip it when the footprint is US-only and the product is simple. Avalara's per-state rate and Numeral's per-filing rate both come in lower for a 5-state or 10-state seller, and the best sales tax software ranking prices all of them on one scenario.
A physical-goods seller on Shopify should also note that Anrok's calculation there runs through Shopify Tax.
If the real question is the ledger the tax engine feeds, the NetSuite review and QuickBooks vs NetSuite cover that choice, and best revenue recognition software covers the other compliance job a SaaS controller owns.

The bottom line
Anrok earns its fee when the company sells across borders, bills through a platform on its integration list, and would otherwise run two tax vendors and a reconciliation spreadsheet.
Price Starter per market for the markets you are registered in today, and get a Custom quote in writing before the tenth market, because the published rate ends there.
Choose Avalara for a US-only footprint with many states, Numeral to pay per filing with a free nexus study, Stripe Tax when everything already runs through Stripe, and Sphere when you want the same per-region model with a tax team at the Growth tier.
How we compared: prices and plan limits come from the pricing pages of Anrok, Avalara, Numeral, Stripe Tax and Sphere, all read on October 17, 2026, and the 5-market and 10-market totals are our arithmetic on those list prices.
