  • Prices as of: October 2026
  • 8 options compared: BlackLine financial close, Oracle EPM Standard, Oracle EPM Enterprise, Digits Essentials, Digits Core, FloQast, Numeric, Trintech Cadency
  • BlackLine financial close (best for: A company that will keep its ERP and will itemize the applications on a quote): No list price. The public path is a demo
  • Oracle EPM Standard (best for: Reconciliation compliance and consolidation inside an Oracle Cloud EPM subscription): $250 per hosted named user a month, 10-user minimum
  • Oracle EPM Enterprise (best for: The Standard suite plus transaction matching, on the named-user metric): $500 per hosted named user a month, 25-user minimum
  • Digits Essentials (best for: One small company that will run its books in Digits): $65/mo per client account

BlackLine publishes no list price in 2026, so a controller cannot turn headcount or entity count into a budget from the website. Oracle EPM Standard costs $30,000 a year at its 10-user minimum, and Digits Core costs $1,200 a year for one client account. A BlackLine total still has to come from a written quote.

The demo is the only public path to that number, and a round figure copied from a buyer write-up is not a line you can defend in a board pack. BlackLine sells close work as a menu of applications. The useful move is to decide which names belong on the order, then send FloQast and Numeric the same list. Fit, separate from this bill, is in the FloQast versus BlackLine comparison.

Toolradar data: of the 632 finance tools Toolradar tracks, 180 have a verified price, as of October 17, 2026 (finance statistics). BlackLine sits outside that 180. It is listed as an alternative to 9 tools, against a median of 3, and it has no free plan, while 31% of the category does. The directory page is BlackLine on Toolradar.

Close automation software runs the checklist, the reconciliations, and the journal approvals that sit on a general ledger. It does not replace that ledger.

Prices were read on October 17, 2026. Oracle's figures come from its global price list dated October 8, 2026. Year totals later on this page are our multiplication of those published rates, and they are not vendor quotes.

What does a BlackLine quote actually have to name?

The website gives you the menu, and the order form has to turn that menu into lines. BlackLine's financial close page lists account reconciliations, transaction matching, journal entry, a journals risk analyser, accrual drafting, Smart Close for SAP, account analysis, consolidation, reporting and analysis, task management, and compliance. The homepage adds intercompany and invoice-to-cash, on a layer it calls Studio360. A name on that menu is not in the contract until the quote says so.

Reconciliations are what most teams think they are buying: templates, auto-reconciliation rules, a status dashboard, and Verity Prepare, which drafts the reconciliation for a person to review and keeps an audit trail of each AI action. Task management is the calendar around that work. Journal entry posts to the ERP from a reconciliation, a match, or a data feed. Leave matching and consolidation off the list and you are buying a controlled checklist with journals, a smaller purchase than the full page.

Matching takes bank, ERP, payroll, and other feeds and can push exceptions back as journals. Consolidation covers ownership, eliminations, and top-side entries. If the pain is line volume, matching belongs on the quote. If the pain is a list of owners, it does not. Smart Close for SAP is its own product. Ask for it by name in an SAP shop, and leave it off everywhere else. The ledger under the close is a separate bill. When that ledger is NetSuite, the license shape is in NetSuite pricing.

Intercompany and invoice-to-cash widen the deal past the month-end close. The site lists intercompany Create, Balance and Resolve, and Net and Settle on their own, and cash application, collections, credit, disputes, and e-invoicing under invoice-to-cash. Mark them out in the request unless those projects are funded this year.

BlackLine's homepage says more than 4,300 companies use the platform, and it prints a 70% reduction in close time and a 621% three-year return with no sample, date, or method. The reconciliation page adds an 8x claim for Verity Prepare and a 50% time cut reported by Kempinski Hotels, again with no sample. None of those figures is a credit against the invoice. The public next step is a demo request, and those pages state no free plan, no trial length, no per-user rate, and no implementation fee.

What does the Oracle EPM minimum actually buy?

Oracle is the reconciliation suite with a rate a controller can multiply, and the rate buys the suite. On the global price list dated October 8, 2026, EPM Standard is $250 per hosted named user a month with a minimum of 10, and EPM Enterprise is $500 per hosted named user a month with a minimum of 25. Ten times $250 times 12 months is $30,000. Twenty-five times $500 times 12 months is $150,000. Each named user past the Standard minimum adds $3,000 a year. A team of four still pays the 10-user floor.

A hosted named user is anyone assigned Service Administrator, Power User, User, or Viewer. A read-only auditor counts. Giving the external audit team a login is a seat decision, not a courtesy, and it can push a close team over the minimum or past it.

Standard includes account reconciliation with reconciliation compliance, plus financial consolidation and close, planning, and narrative reporting, on Oracle's subscription guide. Transaction matching is the Enterprise increment on top of that reconciliation set. AI features are exclusive to Enterprise. A BlackLine buyer whose bottleneck is high-volume matching is comparing the Enterprise floor, not the cheaper minimum. Buying Standard to "get reconciliations" also buys planning and report packages the close team may already own elsewhere.

Two other lines on the same list are easy to misread. An additional Standard application environment is $2,500 a month, separate from the named-user subscription. Enterprise can also be bought per hosted employee at $40, with a minimum of 5,000, which is $200,000 a month at that floor. That employee rate is not a price for the accountants in the close. Match the order to the named-user parts, Standard B91073 and Enterprise B91074, unless the rep is explicitly selling the employee metric.

Put that year next to a blank BlackLine quote when you want the board to see a published reconciliation suite before the demo. A company staying on NetSuite or Sage Intacct is looking at a different product. When consolidation is the project, start from financial consolidation tools.

What can one company budget on a printed monthly rate?

Digits is the close-adjacent product on this page with a monthly price, and it is the ledger. Digits pricing lists Essentials at $65/mo and Core at $100/mo, with Pro at a higher rate marked coming soon. The company prices per client account, not per user, so colleagues and a client's own staff do not add seats. One company buying for its own books is one account. Twelve months of Essentials is $780. Twelve months of Core is 12 times the monthly rate, and the page prints no annual discount. There is a 30-day trial, and Digits says there are no setup or migration fees.

Essentials includes the ledger, a checklist, bank and payroll connections, bill pay, and invoicing. Core adds department and location tracking, plus automated schedules. Budget versus actuals sits on Pro, which the page still marks coming soon, so leave Pro out of this year's budget. An accounting firm is billed per client it adds, which is a different contract from one company running its own close.

Buy Digits when the books themselves are the project, or when you need a number before a meeting. Digits replaces the ledger. BlackLine posts journals back to an ERP you already pay for, so its quote sits on top of that ERP. The accounting software guide is the list when the ledger is still open, and Digits is the directory page.

Which close suites also leave the number with sales?

FloQast, Numeric, and Trintech withhold a public total too, so compare the shape of the quote. FloQast pricing lists three packages and states there is no per-user fee. Close Management is the checklist, reconciliations, and an AI assistant. Close AI adds agents, matching, automated reconciliations, and journal posting. Risk and Compliance can stand alone or sit on either close package. Every package is contact sales, so a long approval chain adds no seats and you still cannot multiply a year from the website. Package detail is in the FloQast review.

Numeric's pricing page shows four products and no dollar amount. Close Management and Analytics is the month-end project tool. Cash Management and Billing and Revenue can be added beside it. ERP Replacement is the full suite and cannot be mixed the way the other three can. The quote uses transactions and seats, so volume and headcount can both move the bill, and onboarding is scoped up front rather than described as included.

Trintech's Cadency page describes balance-sheet reconciliations, transaction matching, close management, journals, compliance, and intercompany for large enterprises, and it publishes no price. The commercial step is a demo. Trintech on Toolradar is the directory listing. For a ranking of these close platforms on checklist depth and ERP fit, use best close management software. This page stays on the bill.

One company, software only, before a sales call How the year is built Year
BlackLine, any set of applications No public rate to multiply Cannot compute
Oracle EPM Standard, the 10-user minimum 10 times the Standard monthly rate, times 12 $30,000
Oracle EPM Enterprise, the 25-user minimum 25 times the Enterprise monthly rate, times 12 $150,000
Digits Essentials, one client account The Essentials monthly rate times 12 $780
Digits Core, one client account The Core monthly rate times 12 $1,200
FloQast, any package Contact sales, and the page states no per-user fee Cannot compute
Numeric Close Management A quote from transactions and seats Cannot compute
Trintech Cadency Demo. No rate on the product page Cannot compute

The Oracle and Digits years exclude tax. Oracle's year also excludes an extra application environment and the hosted-employee metric. Digits' year excludes Pro. Nothing in the BlackLine, FloQast, Numeric, or Trintech rows is a vendor quote.

What should the BlackLine quote request include?

Send one written scope before the demo, and ask every vendor to price that scope.

  • Applications: mark reconciliations, task management, journals, matching, consolidation, compliance, and reporting in or out. A homepage capability is included only when it is a line.
  • Agents and SAP: ask whether Verity Prepare, accrual drafting, and flux commentary sit inside those applications. If the ledger is SAP, Smart Close is its own line. Otherwise it is out.
  • Adjacent families: mark intercompany and invoice-to-cash out unless those projects are funded this year.
  • Unit and viewers: the site does not say whether price moves with users, accounts, entities, or transactions. The quote has to name the unit, the quantity, and whether a read-only reviewer counts.
  • Implementation and renewal: ask for the fee, what a standard close includes, the go-live date, the term, and any cap on the renewal. The product pages state none of those.
  • The ledger: price the ERP on its own line. The NetSuite review, the Sage Intacct review, and NetSuite versus Sage Intacct cover that half of the stack.

The day-by-day close is in the month-end close checklist. Where AI sits in the stack is in AI for accounting.

Who should book the demo, and who should skip it?

Book the demo when the ERP stays and the bottleneck is volume, evidence, or a group close. High-volume matching, a reconciliation that has to be audit-ready every month, or consolidation across entities are the jobs the close page is written for. Take the application list above into the meeting, and do not leave with one blended number. The AI for the financial close guide is the product shortlist, and financial reporting tools cover the layer that reads the close after it is done.

Skip the demo when the buying rule is a number this week. Digits prints an annual software line for one company, and Oracle prints an EPM floor if you will take that suite, planning included. A checklist team that wants no per-user fee should price FloQast on the same scope. Skip BlackLine when two people want a login and a bank feed. The pages describe agents, matching rules, sign-off, and an ERP posting step, which is a system you configure. A company that still fits inside its ledger's own close should spend the meeting on the ledger.

Toolradar data: BlackLine had one media mention in the last 30 days, tied for 9th among the 13 finance tools with any mention in that window, as of October 17, 2026. Read that as press, not as a price rank, on the same finance statistics page.

How did we check the prices on this page?

On October 17, 2026 we read BlackLine's financial close page, reconciliation page, homepage, and demo request, plus the FloQast, Numeric, and Digits pricing pages and Trintech's Cadency page. Oracle's rates, minimums, and the environment and employee metrics come from the global price list dated October 8, 2026. The role count comes from Oracle's metric descriptions, and what each subscription includes comes from Oracle's Cloud EPM subscription guide. Year totals are the published monthly rate times 12, or times the published minimum and then times 12. The tool count, the verified-price share, the free-plan share, and the media mention are Toolradar's.

Frequently asked questions

How much does BlackLine cost in 2026?

BlackLine does not print a list price, a per-user rate, or a calculator. The financial close page lists the applications, and the commercial step is a demo. Oracle EPM Standard is $30,000 a year at its 10-user minimum, and one Digits Core account is $1,200 a year. A BlackLine total has to come from a written quote that names the applications and the unit.

Does BlackLine charge per user?

The pages we read do not say. They state neither a per-user fee nor a rule that price ignores users. FloQast does say there is no per-user fee, and still publishes no dollar amount. Oracle charges per hosted named user, and a Viewer counts. Until BlackLine's quote names the unit, headcount is not a budget.

Is there a free BlackLine plan or a public trial?

No. The close page, the reconciliation page, and the demo request list neither a free plan nor a trial length. Digits offers a 30-day trial, and that trial is for its ledger, not for BlackLine. A team that needs software it can open before a sales call will not find it on BlackLine's public site.

What do 10 users cost on Oracle EPM Standard, and what is missing?

The minimum is 10 hosted named users at $250 a month on the October 8, 2026 price list. Twelve months at that floor is 10 times the monthly rate. The subscription includes reconciliation compliance, consolidation, planning, and narrative reporting. Transaction matching and Oracle's AI features sit on EPM Enterprise. An extra Standard application environment is a separate monthly charge, and a Viewer login counts as a named user.

How much does Digits cost for one company?

Essentials is $65/mo and Core is $100/mo, per client account, read on October 17, 2026. One company is one account, so a larger close team does not multiply the software line. Twelve months is $780 on Essentials and $1,200 on Core, before tax, with a 30-day trial and no setup fee on the pricing page. Pro is marked coming soon. Digits is the ledger, so this total replaces the books rather than sitting on NetSuite or Sage Intacct.

Is FloQast cheaper than BlackLine?

Nobody can say from the public pages. FloQast sells three packages through contact sales and states that there is no per-user fee. BlackLine's pages show a demo request and no price. Cheaper shows up only after both vendors price the same applications, entities, and ledger connector. Product fit is in FloQast versus BlackLine.

What should a BlackLine quote list before you compare it with anyone else?

List each application as included or excluded, say whether Verity agents sit inside them, and mark Smart Close, intercompany, and invoice-to-cash out unless you are buying them. Name the pricing unit, the quantity, and whether viewers count. State the implementation fee, the term, and any renewal cap, and price the ERP on its own line. A single blended total hides the module you did not mean to buy.
