Rho Review 2026: Free Banking, Cards and AP for Startups
Rho's banking, corporate card, bill pay and treasury read line by line: what is free, what Rho charges, and which conditions decide your cashback rate.
Rho is worth it in 2026 for a US startup that wants banking, corporate cards, expenses and bill pay in one account without a software bill. Rho charges no subscription, per-user or minimum-balance fees, and domestic ACH, wires and checks cost $0, checked on its pricing page in October 2026.
The money is in the conditions. The card pays up to 1.25% cashback on daily repayment and up to 2% once you reach Rho Platinum status, which needs payroll, revenue and at least half of company assets at Rho; monthly repayment pays less and needs $25,000 held at Rho to open. Currency conversions cost 1%, and Rho Treasury charges a 0.15% to 0.60% annual management fee.
Key factsBest for: US startups that want banking, cards, expenses and bill pay…
- A no-fee business account with corporate cards, Bill Pay and treasury, where cashback depends on repayment terms and status.
- Subscription and per-user fees: None on banking, cards, expenses or bill pay
- Card cashback: Up to 1.25% standard, up to 2% with Rho Platinum, on daily terms
- Foreign currency fee: 1% on conversions and FX transfers
- Treasury minimum: $50,000 to open
Pros
- No Rho fee on domestic ACH, wires and checks, and no per-user or subscription charge
- Corporate card with no personal guarantee and no personal credit report
- Cashback is paid as cash rather than points, so there is no redemption math
Cons
- Platinum needs payroll, revenue and at least 50% of company assets at Rho
- A late statement payment forfeits the cashback, and cashback stops at $1M of annual spend

Pick Rho when the company wants one login for its operating account, cards, expense reports and vendor payments, and is willing to pay its card daily or to move most of its banking to Rho. Look elsewhere when the card is the only product you want, or when the company cannot meet the balance conditions behind the better terms.
Toolradar data: of the 87 expense management tools in Toolradar's October 2026 ranking, only 38 publish a paid price, and their median cheapest paid plan is $12 a month. Rho sits in the group that charges nothing for the software at all, which moves the comparison to cashback terms, payment fees and treasury costs, the parts this review prices out.
What is Rho?
Rho is a US business finance platform, a fintech rather than a bank. Checking and card services come from Webster Bank, a division of Santander Bank, N.A., and Lead Bank, both members of the FDIC; savings run through American Deposit Management Co. and its partner banks; and Rho Treasury is an SEC-registered investment adviser.
Everything sits on one account: business checking, savings, Mastercard World Elite Business corporate cards, expense management, Rho Bill Pay for accounts payable, invoicing, treasury and an API. Rho also offers incorporation of a new Delaware C-Corp or LLC with the account opened in the same flow.
How Rho works
The corporate card is open to US-incorporated businesses with an EIN, and Rho underwrites the business, not the founder: there is no personal guarantee and no personal credit report. You choose daily or monthly repayment. Monthly terms open at $25,000 held at Rho, or $75,000 combined with linked external accounts, subject to underwriting.
Cashback is paid as cash, not points, on up to $1M of eligible annual card spend, and some categories are excluded. The full statement balance must be paid on time or the cashback is forfeited. Rho Platinum is a status, not a product: it has no fee and no application, and applies when payroll is funded from Rho, revenue is deposited at Rho, at least 50% of company assets sit at Rho and the company has an open Rho card.
Bill Pay captures invoices forwarded by email, drafts them with OCR, routes them for approval, flags possible duplicates and pays by ACH, domestic wire or check. Transactions sync natively to QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Puzzle, with bank feeds to Xero and QuickBooks Online.
Rho key features
Rho pricing
Rho's fee summary, read 21 October 2026, lists same-day ACH, wires and checks, subscriptions, checking minimums, in-platform AP, expense and accounting automation and per-user access at no charge. Three fees remain: 1% on foreign currency transfers and conversions, $30 to recall an international wire from checking and an optional $15 SWIFT fee on international wires; recalling a domestic wire is free. Card terms come from Rho's corporate card page and treasury fees from its treasury page.
Scenario, our arithmetic: a startup puts $40,000 a month on the card, $480,000 a year and inside the $1M cashback cap. At the maximum rates that is $6,000 a year on daily standard terms, $9,600 with Platinum, $4,800 on monthly standard terms and $8,400 on monthly Platinum. If the same company keeps a million dollars in Rho Treasury, the lowest-balance fee tier means $6,000 a year in management fees, which Rho deducts before showing the net yield. A single $20,000 payment converted to euros costs $200 in Rho's conversion fee.
Watch out: the cashback figures are maximums, some categories earn less or nothing, and one late statement payment forfeits the cashback. International USD wires can still pick up fees from correspondent or recipient banks that Rho does not control.
Methodology: fees and terms come from Rho's pricing, card, banking, Bill Pay and treasury pages, and competitor prices from Mercury, Brex, Ramp and BILL, all read in October 2026. We do not test products; scenario figures apply published rates to stated volumes.

- Cashback is paid as cash rather than points, so there is no redemption math

Who Rho is for
Rho fits a venture-backed or growing US startup that wants its bank, card and payables in one place and will either pay the card daily or consolidate payroll, revenue and most cash at Rho. Founders who refuse a personal guarantee get a corporate card underwritten on the business.
Skip Rho when travel booking is the main need; Brex and Ramp both include it on their free plans. Skip it too when you will keep most cash at another bank and pay monthly: you then need the $25,000 or $75,000 balance condition and earn the lower monthly rate.

The bottom line
Rho is one of the few platforms where banking, cards, expenses and payables all cost nothing in software or payment fees, and its corporate card skips the personal guarantee. The value depends on two choices: pay the card daily, and decide whether moving payroll, revenue and most of your cash to Rho for Platinum is worth the extra cashback.
Choose Mercury for a banking-first account with free USD international wires (see our Mercury review), Brex or Ramp when travel booking should sit next to the cards, and BILL Spend & Expense if your payables already run on BILL.
