Prophix Review 2026
What Prophix One covers across planning, close and reporting, how its own pricing guide says FP&A software is billed, and five alternatives on what they publish.
Prophix One is worth a demo for a mid-market finance team that wants budgeting, the month-end close and consolidation on one platform, and can accept a price it will not see until a sales call. Prophix publishes no price. Its own pricing guide says it is not the cheapest FP&A vendor and sits in the mid-to-high range, and that mid-market FP&A subscriptions run from $15,000 to over $100,000 a year.
Skip it if you need a trial or a published rate before procurement. Workday Adaptive Planning offers 30-day access by request, and Vena and Datarails at least publish their plan structure and seat caps.

Prophix OneProphix sells Prophix One as the first autonomous finance platform for the mid-market, covering financial planning and analysis, close and consolidation, and reporting and analytics. The CFO's question is whether one vendor for plan and close is worth a premium price, because Prophix says plainly that it is not the cheap option.
CFOpresso data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, rates Prophix 4.5 out of 5 across 349 reviews on G2 and Capterra, as of October 2026. It lists Prophix as an alternative to 16 other tools, joint 47th of the 632 finance tools it tracks, so it is a regular name on finance shortlists. Its Prophix profile marks it as having no free plan, while 31% of those finance tools have one. For the planning field, Toolradar evaluated 18 tools on its financial planning ranking.
Methodology: product claims come from Prophix's own site, its September 15, 2026 Fall launch post and its FP&A pricing guide, and alternatives' terms from their own pricing pages, all read on October 17, 2026. Nothing here comes from hands-on testing, and no dollar figure on this page is a Prophix quote.
What is Prophix One?
Prophix One is a cloud financial performance platform with three workflow areas: planning and analysis, close and consolidation, and reporting and analytics. Its homepage pitch on Excel is "Keep Excel where it works. Replace it where it doesn't," with structured, driver-based models handling large volumes of financial and operational data. That suits a team that wants to stop running the budget in linked workbooks without banning Excel from analysis.
The close side is the differentiator against planning-only tools. Prophix says its AI matching reconciles general ledger and intercompany balances automatically, which puts reconciliations and consolidation in the same system as the budget. Our close management software guide and consolidation tools guide show the specialists it competes with on that side.
Prophix names its industries as construction, healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, professional services, real estate, senior living and utilities. A SaaS company is not excluded, but the industry content and examples are built for operational businesses with facilities, projects or properties.
How Prophix One works
The September 15, 2026 Fall launch added four capabilities, per Prophix's announcement. Copilot for Microsoft Office and an MCP Server bring governed Prophix data into the tools people already use. An Autonomous Planning Agent runs recurring FP&A work with human-in-the-loop oversight, and bank integrations for Cash Management refresh balances and classify transactions. The April 2026 Spring release had added Copilot for Microsoft Teams and an Architect Agent that converts customer data into validated Prophix models.
None of those announcements states a price or whether the new agents are included in an existing subscription. That is the first question for the sales call, because AI features priced as add-ons change the renewal math more than the base license does.
Prophix's pricing guide describes the usual implementation choice: a self-serve setup with step-by-step guidance, or a consultant-led one, and it says the self-led route can be significantly less expensive. Ask which route the proposal assumes, who owns the model build, and what extended support and training cost as separate lines.
Prophix One key features
Prophix One pricing
Prophix publishes no price. Its pricing page, read October 17, 2026, offers a demo video and a call booking, plus educational content, and no plans or figures. Its own FP&A pricing guide is more candid: it says Prophix is not the cheapest vendor and that, given its tenure and security, its solutions sit in the mid-to-high range.
The same guide describes how the category bills, which is the best public map of a Prophix quote. Contracts run 1 to 5 years, usually paid annually upfront, with longer terms earning discounts. Price rises with users, sold in bands of 10 or fewer, 10 to 50 and over 50. Mid-market companies typically license 15 to 35 users at $250 to $2,500 per user a year by role, with administrators costing most and read-only users least, so the seat mix matters as much as the headcount. It puts mid-market subscriptions at $15,000 to over $100,000 a year. These are Prophix's descriptions of the FP&A market, not its rate card.
Our arithmetic on those ranges: 25 users would cost $6,250 a year if every seat sat at the bottom of the band and $62,500 if every seat sat at the top. A mid-to-high vendor should land nearer the top, so a buyer should test whether contributors and viewers are priced closer to the floor.
The alternatives publish structure, not dollars. Vena lists Professional and Complete plans and charges extra for export APIs. Datarails quotes tiers capped at 2, 5 and 15 users. Workday Adaptive Planning offers a 30-day trial, and Cube and Planful quote only.

Who Prophix One is for
Prophix fits a mid-market finance team, typically one buying 15 to 35 seats, that runs budgeting and the month-end close in separate tools or spreadsheets and wants them on one platform. Multi-entity companies in the industries Prophix names, such as healthcare, real estate, construction or senior living, get the most from the consolidation side and the industry content.
Skip it if budget is the deciding factor: Prophix's own guide says it is not the cheapest. A team that only needs planning can look at Cube or Datarails, and an enterprise planning across supply chain and sales belongs with the platforms in our Anaplan review.

The bottom line
Prophix One belongs on the shortlist when a mid-market finance team wants budgeting, the close and consolidation from one vendor and accepts a premium price for it. Prophix says itself that it is not the cheapest, so the evaluation is about whether one platform for plan and close saves more than the price gap to a planning-only tool.
Put Planful next to it, since it covers the same plan-to-close scope; choose Workday Adaptive Planning if a trial is the first test, and Datarails or Cube if planning alone is the need. Read the Planful review, the Vena review and the Workday Adaptive Planning review before the first call, and compare Toolradar profiles for Planful, Vena and Datarails. See our editorial policy.
