Anaplan Review 2026
What Anaplan's finance applications cover, why it publishes no price, what a quote should include, and four alternatives on the terms they do state.
Anaplan is worth a demo when planning spans finance, sales and supply chain, and the budget can carry an enterprise quote. It publishes no price. Its pricing address opens a contact form, and Toolradar lists the plan price as Contact us. The first call sets the number, so the buyer's job is to get the scope and the total in writing before the demo ends.
Skip it for a single-function finance team that needs a published price, a trial, or a working plan in weeks. Workday Adaptive Planning states a 30-day free trial, and Mosaic publishes a per-user add-on price, so those two give a buyer more to check before a sales call.
Key factsBest for: Enterprise finance and planning teams that connect finance…

- Free trial: None listed on its pricing page
- Toolradar reviews: 511 across G2 and Capterra
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (Toolradar)
- Alternatives covered: Pigment, Workday Adaptive Planning, Cube, Mosaic
Pros
- Nine finance applications, including Financial Consolidation and Integrated Financial Planning, run on one platform, per the vendor's site.
- Applications are described as ready on day one, and models can move through development, testing and production.
- Built-in connectors and APIs pull planning data in, and the vendor says from any source.
Cons
- No price and no trial: the pricing address opens a contact form, so the first number is a sales quote.
- No implementation timeline or setup fee on the vendor's pages, so the rollout cost stays open until the proposal.
- Toolradar lists the product as paid plans only, so there is no free tier to test the model before a contract.
AnaplanAnaplan is one of the enterprise planning platforms finance teams shortlist when spreadsheet models stop scaling. It covers budgeting, forecasting, consolidation and disclosure, and its sales, supply chain and workforce applications run on the same platform.
The question for a CFO or FP&A lead is narrower: does one connected model across departments justify a price that does not appear on the website?
Toolradar data: our Anaplan listing aggregates 511 reviews from G2 and Capterra, a 4.5 out of 5 rating last checked September 17, 2026, and it marks Anaplan as paid plans only.
For the wider field, see our AI budgeting and forecasting guide, and the Toolradar pages for Anaplan and Pigment.
Methodology: every price and product claim comes from Anaplan's own pages and from the pricing and product pages of the four alternatives, read on October 10, 2026. Ratings and the plan-price line come from our Toolradar listings, with their check dates.
Nothing here comes from hands-on testing. Where a vendor publishes no price, this review says so and names the basis it uses instead.
What is Anaplan?
Anaplan is a cloud planning platform built on its own calculation engine. Its platform page describes advanced calculation engines built for scale, and it says the calculations trace back to their source. That is a vendor claim. The test is a model of your own: change one assumption in the demo and trace the result back to its input.
The finance side is packaged as separate applications on the same platform.
Anaplan's site lists nine finance applications: Consensus Margin Planning, Disclosure Management, Financial Consolidation, Gross-to-Net Forecasting, Integrated Financial Planning, Profitability Analysis, Project Cost Planning, Software Spend Optimization and Subscription Revenue Planning.
The vendor calls them purpose-built and ready out of the box, so the quote should name the three or four your close and plan actually need. Our best AI FP&A software guide places the enterprise platforms against the lighter FP&A tools.
The AI layer is sold by function. Anaplan's Finance Analyst agent is described as automating budget tasks and supporting forecasting and consolidation. Separate agents cover sales, supply chain and workforce planning.
Ask which actions these agents take without a human sign-off, and where each action is logged. That answer decides whether the agent helps an audit or complicates one.
How Anaplan works
Anaplan says its applications are ready on day one, and that models can move through development, testing and production environments without disrupting live planning. Those statements describe the product, not the rollout. The platform page gives no implementation timeline and no fee for the setup work.
Data comes in through built-in connectors and APIs, which Anaplan says can pull planning data from any source. The useful test is the three or four feeds the plan depends on, such as the general ledger, the headcount system and the CRM.
Run them in the demo on your own extract, not the vendor's sample company. Anything the connectors do not cover becomes custom work, and that is where scope tends to grow.
Ask for three things with the proposal: the rollout plan with named phases, who builds the models (Anaplan's team, a partner or your own staff), and the price of that build as its own line. Without those three, the number in the quote is only the subscription.
Anaplan key features
Anaplan pricing
Anaplan publishes no price. Its pricing address, read October 10, 2026, opens a contact page with a form and a 'Get a personalized demo' button, and it names no plans, no trial and no dollar figure.
Toolradar's listing shows the plan price as Contact us, checked September 29, 2026, and marks the product paid plans only, with no permanently free tier.
A quote should break out five things: the applications, the user count by role, the planning models and their size, the data connectors, and the environments and term. Anaplan's pages give no figure for any of them, so the written quote is the only price a buyer will see. Read the renewal clause before signing.
The alternatives publish less than their homepages suggest, so the comparison rests on the terms they do state. Cube's pricing page is titled Transparent and Upfront Pricing, yet it lists Bronze, Silver and Gold, each behind a 'Get quote' button, with no dollar figure.
Datarails sells three tiers capped at 2, 5 and 15 users, each on a custom quote.
Workday Adaptive Planning offers a free trial with no obligation, and its paid plans read 'Pricing varies'.
Mosaic is the only vendor here with a published dollar figure: $50 per user per month for the optional Chello Pro add-on, on top of a per-seat subscription billed annually. Pigment's homepage routes visitors to a demo request, with no price shown.
One computed comparison shows how far that add-on goes. For 25 finance users, $50 a month each is $1,250 a month, or $15,000 a year if the add-on runs all year, before the base subscription, which is also quoted. Use that as a reference line when Anaplan's quote arrives, and ask for its AI agents as a separate price.

Anaplan pros and cons

- Applications are described as ready on day one, and models can move through development, testing and production.
- Built-in connectors and APIs pull planning data in, and the vendor says from any source.
What could be better
- No price and no trial: the pricing address opens a contact form, so the first number is a sales quote.
- No implementation timeline or setup fee on the vendor's pages, so the rollout cost stays open until the proposal.
- Toolradar lists the product as paid plans only, so there is no free tier to test the model before a contract.
Who Anaplan is for
Anaplan fits a company where planning crosses several functions, the model has many drivers, and an enterprise budget line already exists. Finance leaders running a multi-entity consolidation, or a plan that feeds sales capacity and headcount, are the buyers its applications are built for.
For the consolidation side alone, the financial consolidation tools guide compares the options before a quote.
Skip it for a single-function FP&A team on a spreadsheet that works, and for any company that needs a published price or a working plan within weeks.
For that buyer, our AI budgeting and forecasting guide covers the smaller tools, and Datarails and Cube have their own reviews on this site.
Count the functions in the plan, the models and the data feeds before deciding whether the enterprise tier is needed. A plan with one function and two feeds rarely needs it.
Best Anaplan alternatives
If Anaplan is not the right fit, these are the closest options.

The bottom line
Anaplan belongs on the shortlist when one planning model has to serve finance, sales and supply chain, and the company can fund an enterprise quote. It publishes no price, no trial and no implementation timeline, so the decision starts with a written proposal that names applications, users, models, connectors and environments.
Put the same scope to Pigment, Workday Adaptive Planning, Cube and Mosaic, and compare the quotes line by line.
Choose Workday Adaptive Planning if a free trial is the first test, and Mosaic if a per-seat rate that falls with headcount matters more than a single platform-wide model. Choose Cube if unlimited dimensions and users are the requirement and you accept a quote on each tier.
