Mosaic Review 2026
Whether waiting for HiBob's finance module is worth it, and what a printed planning rate costs instead.
Mosaic is not worth a finance-only purchase in 2026. HiBob publishes no finance price, and its page says Bob Finance returns in a few months. Quotes are per employee and include Core HR, so a team that needs a model this quarter can budget cfo.ai Startup at $375/mo billed annually, or Jirav Starter at $10,000/year.
The contract is an HCM subscription with finance added as a module, which means the price follows the whole workforce rather than a handful of finance seats. If HR software is not part of the decision, quote Cube, Pigment and Anaplan instead. A wider SaaS shortlist is on our FP&A for SaaS page.
Key factsBest for: Companies already buying HiBob that can wait, because the…
- HiBob's finance module, paused for a rebuild and priced with Core HR rather than as a finance seat.
- On sale now: The finance page says Bob Finance returns in a few months.
- How the quote works: Per employee, and every plan includes Core HR.
- Directory rating: 4.7 out of 5 from 217 G2 reviews, on Toolradar's Mosaic profile.
- Alternatives covered: cfo.ai, Jirav, Cube, Pigment, Anaplan
Pros
- The finance page lists 30-plus live integrations and 150-plus ready metrics, plus a custom metric builder, so a board pack does not start blank.
- Headcount can sync from Bob, so a hiring plan and its cost share one people record, which is the reason to accept the HCM bundle.
- Connected three-statement models and vendor-level budget versus actual are named on the page, so supplier variance is part of the claim.
Cons
- The module is paused for a rebuild, so it cannot produce this quarter's forecast.
- There is no finance-only price, because the quote is per employee and Core HR is on every plan.

A controller who still has Mosaic on a shortlist is shopping for a product HiBob has taken offline for a rebuild. The decision is whether to wait, not which Mosaic tier to pick, because the public site no longer sells a finance checkout.
Toolradar data: Mosaic's profile, as of October 2026, shows 4.7 out of 5 from 217 G2 reviews and lists the product as an alternative to 7 tools. In the HR and recruiting group of 412 tools, 30% of peers have a free plan and Mosaic does not.
The separate financial planning ranking tracks 18 tools as of 16 October 2026, and 17% of that category is free, freemium or open source.
Mosaic is filed on the HR profile, which matches the bundle HiBob is actually selling, and the profile is at toolradar.com/tools/mosaic-finance.
How we compared: prices and product claims were checked on 17 October 2026 on each vendor's own site. We read six products and did not trial them. Alternatives are the finance tools a controller would put next to a HiBob quote: two with a printed rate, then three planning platforms that also withhold a list price.
The method is the one on how we rate, with corrections through the editorial policy.
What is Mosaic?
Mosaic, the strategic finance product, is now HiBob's Finance Suite, which the same pages also call Bob Finance. The old product name now opens HiBob's finance page, so a search for Mosaic lands on an HR suite rather than a planning checkout.
HiBob describes it as FP&A inside an HCM platform, built so headcount and the cost of hiring live in one place, which pays off only if the company wants that HR system.
The page still describes the product a buyer remembers, including a live headcount sync, a metric library, department budgeting, connected three-statement models and vendor-level budget versus actual. Those claims are a reason to wait only if you already run Bob.
HiBob says 60 to 70 percent of its finance customers are moving off spreadsheets, which means the pitch is replacing the workbook, not the ledger.
One naming trap is worth clearing before a quote. Mosaic at mosaicapp.com is a different company, selling planning software to professional-services firms around utilization and billable work, so that rate card does not belong here and this review covers only the HiBob product.
How Mosaic works
The finance page opens with a hold notice: Bob Finance is getting a new experience and new AI features, and HiBob says it will be back in a few months. Until then the page points visitors at the rest of the Bob platform.
There is no finance checkout and no published implementation calendar, so you cannot put a go-live date on a board calendar from the public site.
The commercial path, if you still want the module on a future contract, is HiBob's pricing form, which starts with company size. The pricing FAQ says the quote depends on headcount, the modules you add, and implementation or support, and that pricing is generally calculated per employee.
Every plan includes Core HR, so the bill follows the whole workforce rather than the size of the finance team.
Once the module returns, the work described is people data syncing from Bob, department owners editing a budget, scenarios on hiring and pay, and a three-statement model with vendor-level actuals.
A company that does not already run Bob cannot get the headcount sync without buying the HR system, which is a larger change than replacing a workbook. Test that on a demo, because the feature list will not show whether department owners can edit a case themselves.
Mosaic key features
Mosaic pricing
HiBob publishes no dollar price for Bob Finance. On HiBob's pricing page, read 17 October 2026, the FAQ says the quote depends on company size, the modules you add, and implementation or support.
Pricing is generally per employee, and every plan includes Core HR, so a finance team of any size is quoted on company headcount rather than on finance seats. With the rebuild notice, Mosaic cannot go into this quarter's budget from the website.
The two vendors here that do print a rate are cfo.ai and Jirav, both read the same day. cfo.ai Startup is $375/mo when billed annually, which is $4,500 for the year, and paying month to month is $500/mo, or $6,000 over a year, so skipping the annual commit has a printed cost.
That plan allows 5 standard integrations, 500,000 synced rows a month, unlimited models and scenarios, and one workspace, with a 14-day trial. The row cap, not the scenario count, is what pushes you to Growth.
Growth is $1,125/mo billed annually, $13,500 for the year, and the month-to-month rate is $1,500, which is $18,000 for a year. Growth raises the caps to 8 standard integrations and 2 million rows, and it includes four times the Startup AI usage.
The gap between a Startup year and a Growth year is $9,000, and it buys those higher caps inside the same single workspace, not a second product.
Jirav's business pricing page badges Starter at $10,000/year and Pro at $15,000/year. The comparison table labels that middle column Professional, so a quote that says Professional is the departmental tier. Starter is company-level planning, with 2 editors and up to 24 months of data.
Pro is departmental, with 5 departments, 5 editors and up to 48 months, so the step up costs $5,000, the price of letting department leads edit.
Set next to a cfo.ai Startup year, Jirav Starter costs $5,500 more. What that extra buys, on Jirav's own page, is a three-statement plan with workforce and accounting integrations, Sheets and Excel uploads, and expert implementation listed for every plan. It does not buy an open-ended row allowance, because Jirav publishes no row cap.
Enterprise is a quote on both, and cfo.ai places multiple workspaces, SSO and premium integrations, including enterprise ERPs and data warehouses, on that tier. Its integrations page marks NetSuite as premium while featuring Stripe, Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks Online and Xero without that label. A company on NetSuite should not treat the Startup rate as the budget.
Jirav's table gives Enterprise 15 editors, 15 departments and 84 months of data, and puts premium integrations on that column. cfo.ai's pricing FAQ also says the product does not close the books, so the accountant still owns the close on either printed plan.
Cube, Pigment and Anaplan print no fee, so compare them on fit once a quote is acceptable.
Cube's Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers are quoted, and the printed differences are legal entities: 1, then up to 10, then up to 50, so a second entity is a tier change you can see before the call. Users and dimensions are unlimited on every tier, Excel and Google Sheets are on every tier, and multicurrency is an add-on until Gold, where it is included.
Cube offers a free try and a demo without stating the length, so do not schedule a pilot around an assumed window.
Pigment's license documentation describes the bill as a platform fee, plus a count of Explorer, Contributor and Editor licenses, plus the features you select, and it tells you to ask a customer success manager for the plan. A viewer should not be priced as a model builder.
Its trial is a private workspace for 14 days from the first login, with no card. You cannot buy from the trial, spots are limited, and the workspace becomes read-only when the period ends.
Anaplan's pricing page is a contact form with no plan names. There is no public tier to budget before the sales conversation.

Mosaic pros and cons
What we like
- The finance page lists 30-plus live integrations and 150-plus ready metrics, plus a custom metric builder, so a board pack does not start blank.
- Headcount can sync from Bob, so a hiring plan and its cost share one people record, which is the reason to accept the HCM bundle.
- Connected three-statement models and vendor-level budget versus actual are named on the page, so supplier variance is part of the claim.
What could be better
- The module is paused for a rebuild, so it cannot produce this quarter's forecast.
- There is no finance-only price, because the quote is per employee and Core HR is on every plan.
Who Mosaic is for
Bob Finance fits a company that is already buying HiBob, or is ready to, and can wait until the finance module returns. The fit is the shared people record: finance and HR planning from one headcount file, with department owners in the budget.
If that sync is the requirement, waiting can be rational, provided the quote is split into Core HR, the finance module, connectors and implementation before anyone signs.
A finance team that needs a working model this quarter should not wait on a banner, because a hold notice is not a delivery date.
Price cfo.ai and Jirav from the figures above, and read our Cube review if the analysts should stay in Excel or Google Sheets.
Skip the module if the company does not want an HCM subscription in order to get FP&A, and quote Pigment and Anaplan instead.
Our budgeting and forecasting shortlist covers tools you can evaluate while this module is away, and Cube, Pigment, Jirav and Anaplan each have a directory page.

The bottom line
Do not buy Mosaic in 2026 if what you need is FP&A software this quarter. The product page says the finance experience is being rebuilt, and HiBob's pricing page gives you a per-employee quote that includes Core HR rather than a finance rate card.
Wait only if the company is going onto HiBob anyway and the shared headcount file is the point of the purchase. Ask for Core HR, the finance module, connectors and implementation as separate lines, or the bundled total hides the planning cost.
If the model has to exist before the module returns, start with the two printed rates: cfo.ai's annual Startup year at $4,500, or Jirav Starter when the fee should be a yearly contract.
Move to Cube when the team should keep working in spreadsheets, and to Pigment or Anaplan when you need a broader planning model and can accept a quote.
Our FP&A software ranking sorts that field by how the model is built. HiBob's directory page is separate from the Mosaic profile linked above.

Frequently asked questions
Is Mosaic worth it in 2026?
Mosaic is not worth buying as standalone FP&A software in 2026, because HiBob's finance page says Bob Finance is being rebuilt and will return in a few months, and the pricing page publishes no dollar figure. A conversation makes sense only when the company is buying HiBob and can wait for the module. Ask for Core HR, finance, connectors and implementation as separate lines.
How much does Mosaic cost?
Mosaic, now Bob Finance, does not publish a price. HiBob's pricing FAQ says quotes are customized by company size, modules and implementation, calculated per employee, and every plan includes Core HR, so there is no finance-seat rate to multiply. For a number you can budget before a call, cfo.ai's annual Startup plan comes to $4,500 for the year.
Is Mosaic the same product as HiBob?
The strategic finance product is now a module of HiBob, and the old Mosaic name lands on HiBob's finance page, which calls the module Bob Finance and HiBob's Finance Suite. It is the HR vendor's finance add-on, not the professional-services planning product sold at mosaicapp.com, so that other rate card does not belong in this decision. Finance sits on a subscription that already includes Core HR.
Does Mosaic have a free plan or a free trial?
HiBob's finance and pricing pages do not list a free plan or a finance trial. Toolradar's Mosaic profile agrees there is no free plan, in a group where 30% of the 412 HR and recruiting tools have one. If a trial is the first test you need, Pigment's signup page offers 14 days in a private workspace, with no card, and you cannot buy from that workspace.
Mosaic or cfo.ai: which should a finance team buy?
Buy cfo.ai when you need a model now and you want a printed rate. Startup at the annual rate is the entry figure on its pricing page, with read-only ingestion and a cap of 5 standard integrations, sized for a short stack rather than an open connector list. Choose the HiBob path only when the company is standardizing on Bob and can wait for the finance module. cfo.ai does not replace the close, and the books still belong to the accountant.
What can I buy if I need a forecast before Bob Finance returns?
Use a vendor that still prints a price or still lets you open the product. Jirav Starter is an annual fee for company-level planning with 2 editors, and cfo.ai prints monthly and annual rates plus a trial, so either can go into a budget this quarter. Cube quotes every tier but includes Excel and Google Sheets on all of them. Pigment lets you build in a workspace before the sales quote, while Anaplan starts from a contact form, and none of those five is paused for a rebuild.
