Odoo Review 2026
Odoo's euro prices and free one-app plan, the costs its pricing page leaves out, and four alternatives checked on their own pricing pages.
Odoo is worth a shortlist spot for a company of up to about 50 people that wants sales, inventory, HR and accounting in one database, and it publishes a per-user price you can check today. Standard costs €19.90 per user per month on yearly billing for the first 12 months, then €24.90. One app is free for unlimited users, forever, according to Odoo's FAQ.
Skip it when the finance team needs multi-entity consolidation or formal revenue recognition on day one, or when the budget cannot carry implementation. Odoo shows euros only on the pages we read, so the dollar figure has to come from a quote.

OdooOdoo sells one database for accounting, CRM, inventory, HR, eCommerce and more, priced by the user and by the app. Its pitch is breadth at a per-user price.
For a finance lead the question is narrower: is the accounting core strong enough to be the system of record, and what does the full bill look like once the euro price, the implementation and the add-ons are counted.
Toolradar data: our Odoo listing aggregates 1,686 reviews, 355 from G2 and 1,331 from Capterra, with an average of 4.2 out of 5, last checked September 17, 2026. Toolradar lists the product as freemium.
The listing is at Odoo on Toolradar, and the closest guide on our side is the accounting software ranking.
Methodology: every price was checked on October 10, 2026 on Odoo's own pricing page and on the pricing or product page of each alternative. Euro and dollar figures stay in the currency each vendor publishes, and nothing is converted. The review count is the Toolradar figure above.
What is Odoo?
Odoo is a modular suite. Each business function is an app, and the paid plans bundle apps together rather than selling them one by one. Its pricing page lists Sales, eCommerce, Website, Accounting, CRM, Inventory, HR, Project and POS among the apps the Standard and Custom plans include, and says there are many more.
Odoo's editions page describes Community as the open-source core and Enterprise as the licensed edition. Its FAQ says Odoo Online and Enterprise are the same software, and that the difference is hosting.
The accounting app is the part a finance lead tests first. Its page describes bank synchronization with 28,000 banks and says 95% of transactions are matched automatically, both vendor claims to check in a live demo.
It also describes deferrals, where revenues and expenses can be deferred manually or on each invoice or bill validation, plus real-time reports that can be annotated, exported and drilled into. The accounting page we read does not mention multi-entity consolidation, multi-currency or ASC 606, so a group with several entities should ask for those in writing.
For the consolidation side of the market, our Sage Intacct review sets the reference point.
How Odoo works
Odoo Online is the hosted route. Odoo says every paid plan includes hosting, incremental daily backups on two continents, email integration, 24/7 monitoring and upgrades at no extra fee. Custom buyers can instead host on Odoo.sh for custom modules, or download Enterprise and run it on their own servers. Odoo.sh hosting is billed on top of the Custom price.
Implementation is not in the subscription. The pricing page says small companies can buy Odoo's Success Packs, and companies above 50 employees usually work through a partner. The page gives no fixed implementation cost and points to a project estimator instead.
Get the partner's scope, hours and rate in writing before the first demo. For how the other suites sell implementation, our NetSuite alternatives guide covers the same gap.
Odoo key features
Odoo pricing
Odoo publishes its plans in euros, and the table above lists each figure with its billing basis, taken from Odoo's pricing page.
The page shows no dollar figure, so we converted nothing.
The arithmetic for 10 paying users on yearly billing: Standard costs €2,388 in year one (10 x €19.90 x 12) and €2,988 from year two (10 x €24.90 x 12). Custom costs €4,308 in year one (10 x €35.90 x 12) and €5,388 after that.
Monthly billing puts Standard at €3,732 a year (10 x €31.10 x 12).
Those totals leave out implementation, Odoo.sh hosting on Custom, and the In-App-Purchase credits for SMS, lead generation and the AI that scans vendor bills and expenses, which Odoo sells on top.
A paying user is someone with backend access who creates, views or edits documents, or an employee record with no linked user.
Customers and suppliers who use the portal are free, which matters for a company with many outside contacts.
Two gotchas belong in the quote. The first is multi-company. The pricing page lists Multi-Company under Custom, the FAQ says the free plan allows multiple companies, and the same FAQ says adding a company switches a database to Custom.
Confirm which rule applies to your structure. The second is light users: Odoo lists a Light User license at €7.90 but requires an advisor quote for it.
Business Central is the dollar comparison point. Its Essentials plan at $80 per user per month, billed yearly, costs a 10-user team $9,600 a year (10 x $80 x 12).
Because Odoo shows no dollar price, the two numbers cannot be ranked against each other without an exchange rate, which neither vendor's page provides. Ask Odoo for a dollar quote on the same 10 users before comparing. For the NetSuite side of the cost question, see our NetSuite pricing explainer.

Who Odoo is for
Odoo fits a company of up to about 50 people that wants one system for sales, operations and finance, and can carry euro pricing until a dollar quote arrives. Founders who run the books, a small finance team, and operations leads who need inventory tied to invoices are the buyers its plans are built for.
Odoo's own pages send companies with more than 50 employees toward a partner or to Odoo directly, so a larger group should expect a sales process from the start.
Skip it when the finance team's core need is multi-entity consolidation or formal revenue recognition on day one. For that, see our NetSuite review and the financial consolidation tools guide.
For a multi-entity structure, the multi-entity accounting guide covers the options. For an accounting-only buyer with no inventory or CRM need, QuickBooks Online is the lighter comparison.
Best Odoo alternatives
If Odoo is not the right fit, these are the closest options.

The bottom line
Shortlist Odoo if the company is up to about 50 people, wants one database for sales, operations and accounting, and can accept a euro price until a dollar quote arrives. Start on the free one-app plan to test the accounting module, then price Standard or Custom against a written quote that settles the multi-company, Odoo.sh and implementation questions.
Choose Business Central if a published dollar price and a free trial come first, and Acumatica if pricing away from seats matters more and a custom quote is acceptable.
Choose Xero or Zoho Books if the need is accounting rather than a full ERP.
