Anaplan Pricing 2026: Entry and Enterprise Cost Estimates

Anaplan publishes no price in 2026. What the contract bills on (seats, workspace, AI credits), third-party estimates labeled as such, and a year-one cost model.

Anaplan Pricing 2026: Entry and Enterprise Cost Estimates

Anaplan publishes no price in 2026: its pricing address opens a contact form. The best public estimate is Vendr's buyer data, a median of $114,609 a year across 51 deals, with a low of $30,590 and a high of $301,931. Those are third-party figures, not Anaplan's. For a published per-user rate in planning software, Mosaic's AI add-on is the only one we found, and Workday Adaptive Planning offers a 30-day trial.

That gap matters more for a CFO than for most buyers. You will sign a planning contract without ever seeing a rate card, so your bargaining power sits in the scope you write down before the first call. This page lays out what Anaplan's own documentation says the contract is made of, what outside buyers report, and a year-one model you can rerun with your own quote.

Toolradar data: of the 18 financial planning tools on Toolradar's financial planning ranking in October 2026, Anaplan is the one most often listed as an alternative, named against 17 other tools, against a peer median of 3. Only 3 of the 18 have a free plan, and Anaplan is not one of them. Its directory page is Anaplan on Toolradar.

An enterprise planning platform, for a finance team, is a shared model where budgets, forecasts and operating plans calculate in one place instead of in linked spreadsheets.

How much does Anaplan cost in 2026?

The honest answer is a range built from other people's contracts, because Anaplan prints no number. We read Anaplan's pricing address on 17 October 2026, and it routes to the contact page: a form, a country picker and a demo button, with no plan names and no trial.

Vendr's Anaplan page, read the same day, reports that median from 51 deals it handled, with the range from $30,590 to $301,931. Treat that as an estimate from deals one broker saw, not as Anaplan's price list. The low end lines up with the entry range in CFO Shortlist's Anaplan pricing report, dated 24 September 2026, which puts entry contracts at $30K to $50K a year and typical enterprise deployments at $150K to over $1M.

The spread is the useful part: a buyer at the bottom of Vendr's range pays roughly a tenth of what a buyer at the top pays, for the same product. Scope, not list price, sets the bill, which means a loosely written requirements document is the most expensive document in the process.

What the contract is built from

Anaplan's help center, unlike its pricing page, does describe the moving parts. Four of them show up on the invoice in some form.

Seats by license type. The license assignment guide, last modified 12 June 2026, says each license type you purchase comes with an allocated number of seats. Its example shows a Planner license with 73 of 70 seats assigned, flagged red on the admin summary. So the question for the quote is not "how many users" but "how many of each type", because a modeler and a read-only reviewer are not the same line.

The overage rule works in your favor, at first. The same guide says any user without a license is auto-assigned the lowest-level license in your contract, and that there is no penalty if that pushes you over your limit. That is generous on day one. It also means the true-up conversation arrives at renewal, when your seat count is already higher than the order form, so ask in writing how excess seats are priced at the next term.

Workspace size. The workspaces page shows each workspace's usage in gigabytes. Anaplan's calculation engines page adds that you need a Polaris workspace to use Polaris, the engine for large, sparse models, and Classic and Polaris models cannot share one workspace. If your model is heading toward SKU-level or employee-level detail, that is a second workspace to price.

AI credits. The Agent Studio page, last modified 1 October 2026, says Anaplan Analyst usage is measured in credits, monitored by an AI administrator. Analysts on the new Agentic Platform became available on 28 September 2026. The page gives no credit price or allowance, so a finance team planning to let its FP&A analysts query the model in plain language should get the included credits and the overage rate on the order form.

The AWS Marketplace listing is not a price list

Anaplan's AWS Marketplace listing shows a 12-month contract figure, but it is not a usable list price. The listing says the figure is "based on a representative customer" and will vary with users, solutions, configuration and term. Its single dimension, Connected Planning, is described as "users, workspace & access to product. Varies based on specific needs." A unit with no fixed size is not something a CFO can multiply.

Two lines on that listing tell a CFO more than the number does. First, a unit bundles seats, workspace and platform access, and the listing says there are no separate meters for users versus workspace there. Second, its refund policy says all fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable. If your company has an AWS spend commitment, a private offer through the marketplace can count toward it, which is a real lever in a negotiation even when the price itself is private.

A year-one cost model you can rerun

This is our arithmetic on third-party estimates, not a quote. It uses Vendr's median as the license and CFO Shortlist's implementation multiple, so replace both inputs the moment you have a proposal.

Line Low case High case Basis
Annual license $114,609 Same as low case Vendr median, 51 deals
Implementation, year one $171,914 $343,827 1.5x and 3x the license (CFO Shortlist)
Year-one total $286,523 $458,436 Sum of the two lines
License per month $9,551 $9,551 Median divided by 12
License per seat, 25 seats $4,584 a year $4,584 a year Median divided by 25
License per seat, 50 seats $2,292 a year $2,292 a year Median divided by 50

The per-seat rows are only a way to compare against tools that do price by seat. Anaplan's own documentation sells seats by license type, so a 25-person team where 20 people only review numbers should not pay a modeler rate for all 25.

Renewal is where the second-largest number hides. Each 1% uplift on that median license adds $1,146 a year. If a contract carried a 5% annual uplift, year two would be $120,339 and year three $126,356, so three years would cost $361,304 against $343,827 at a flat rate, a gap of $17,477. Neither Anaplan nor the estimates above state an uplift rate; the 5% is a test value to show why the clause belongs in the first redline.

Where Anaplan sits against rivals that show more

Most enterprise planning vendors are as opaque as Anaplan, so the useful comparison is what each one lets you check before a call. We read each page below on 17 October 2026. The wider vendor-by-vendor table is in FP&A software pricing compared.

Vendor Published price Trial What the page does commit to
Anaplan None None listed Seats by license type, workspace, AI credits (help docs)
Mosaic $50 per user per month for its AI add-on, billed month to month None listed Base platform per seat, billed annually; onboarding scoped one-time
Workday Adaptive Planning "Request a Quote" 30 days, by request AWS Marketplace purchase can draw down an AWS commitment
Datarails Quote on each tier None listed 2, 5 or 15 users plus 50 viewers by tier
Cube Quote, Bronze, Silver and Gold "Try it free" link Unlimited users, dimensions and dashboards on every plan
Vena Professional and Complete, no figure None listed Power User, Contributor and View only seat types
Pigment None "Start free trial" link, length not stated Demo request

Mosaic's published rate is for its Chello Pro add-on, not the platform. Its pricing page says the platform is per seat, billed annually, and that the rate steps down as headcount rises, without a figure. Its customer examples are architecture and engineering firms, so it is a different buyer than a multi-entity CFO.

Cube is the cleanest contrast on seats. Its FAQ says no plan caps users, which removes the license-type negotiation Anaplan's model creates. The trade is scope: Cube's tiers are framed around entities and connections, not cross-functional planning across sales and supply chain. For product-level detail, see the Anaplan review, the Cube review, the Workday Adaptive Planning review, the Pigment review, the Datarails review and the Vena review.

When Anaplan's price is justified

Pay for Anaplan when the plan has to connect finance to sales, supply chain or workforce in one model. That breadth is what the contract is priced for, and it is why Anaplan is the planning tool Toolradar most often lists as an alternative to others. A finance team whose plan lives entirely in the P&L is buying capacity it will not use. The head-to-head with the closest enterprise rival is in Anaplan vs Pigment.

Skip it when nobody on a small team will own the model. Anaplan's help center describes user administrators, workspace administrators and a separate AI administrator role, and each is a job, not a side task. Lighter tools in our AI FP&A software guide and budgeting and forecasting guide cover that buyer.

What to ask for before you sign

Put these five lines on the requirements document you send before the first demo. Raised after the proposal, they read as haggling; raised before it, they shape the quote.

  • Seats by license type, with the price of each type and the rate for seats added mid-term or found over the limit at renewal.
  • Workspace allocation in gigabytes, whether Polaris is included, and the price of the next workspace step.
  • AI credits included per year for Analyst, and the overage rate once they run out.
  • Implementation as its own line: who builds the models (Anaplan, a partner or your team), the phases, and a fixed fee or a cap.
  • The renewal clause: the uplift cap, the term, and whether a bundled feature can become a paid add-on at renewal.

Ask for the same five lines from one rival, Pigment or Workday Adaptive Planning, so the Anaplan quote has something to stand next to. A board that approves a planning platform will ask what the alternative cost, and a second written proposal is the only answer that holds up.

How we priced this

We read Anaplan's pricing address, its help pages on license assignment, workspaces, calculation engines and Agent Studio, and its AWS Marketplace listing on 17 October 2026. Rival terms come from the pricing pages of Mosaic, Workday Adaptive Planning, Datarails, Cube, Vena and Pigment, read the same day. Anaplan publishes no price, so the dollar figures for Anaplan are third-party estimates from Vendr and CFO Shortlist, named wherever they appear; the cost model is our multiplication of those estimates. Nothing here comes from using the product. See our editorial policy for how CFOpresso handles vendor relationships.

FAQ

How much does Anaplan cost per year in 2026?

Anaplan does not publish a price; its pricing page is a contact form. Vendr reports a median annual contract of $114,609 across 51 deals, ranging from $30,590 to $301,931, and CFO Shortlist estimates $30K to $50K a year for entry contracts. Both are third-party estimates, so the only real number is the written quote for your scope.

Does Anaplan charge per user?

Yes, in part. Anaplan's help center says each license type you buy has a set number of seats, and its example shows a Planner license type. Workspace size and, for Anaplan Analyst, AI credits are separate parts of the subscription. Its AWS Marketplace listing bundles seats, workspace and platform access into one unit instead.

Is there a free trial or free plan for Anaplan?

No. Anaplan lists no free plan and no trial; the route in is a demo request. On Toolradar, only 3 of the 18 financial planning tools tracked in October 2026 have a free plan. Workday Adaptive Planning offers 30-day access by request if you need hands-on time before a contract.

How much does Anaplan implementation cost?

Anaplan publishes no implementation fee. CFO Shortlist estimates year-one implementation at 1.5 to 3 times the annual license. Applied to Vendr's median, that is $171,914 to $343,827 on top of the subscription, for a year-one total of $286,523 to $458,436 in our model. Get the build as a separate, capped line in the proposal.

What happens if we go over our Anaplan seat count?

Anaplan's license guide says a user without a license is auto-assigned the lowest-level license in your contract, and there is no penalty if that pushes you over the limit. The admin summary turns red when a license type is over its seats. Ask how those extra seats are priced at renewal, since that is when the count gets reconciled.

Is Anaplan more expensive than Pigment or Workday Adaptive Planning?

It cannot be settled from public pages: Pigment and Workday Adaptive Planning also quote rather than publish prices. Anaplan's case for a higher bill is breadth across finance, sales, supply chain and workforce in one model. Send all three the same written scope and compare seats, workspace, implementation and renewal terms line by line.
